Henko Autolab Inline Brake Line kit

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This kit requires you to disable your ABS to install. The reason is, once the brake hardlines have been swapped around, the ABS controller is no longer controlling the brakes at the correct wheels. This can cause the ABS unit to fault out and potentially disable your brakes completely! Do Not leave your ABS unit enabled. Step 1 explains a couple of ways to do this, but there are other ways to do this. Your ABS light, VDC light, and Slip light will be on.

Step 1: Disable ABS
There are a couple of ways you can do this. All of them can be reversed if you decide to
go back to OEM and re-enable your ABS. Choose the one that best works for you.

1. Break the filament in the ABS fuse located in the main fuse box in front of your
battery. This method is “permanent”, but you can replace the fuse cheaply if you ever
need to revert it. This is the most recommended method as this retains your speedo.
Only break the 2 30Amp links. The 40Amp link to the right is for ignition.
Remember to first disconnect your battery.

2. Unplug your ABS module. There is a large black plug on the side of the ABS unit.
Unplugging this will disable your ABS but it will also stop your speedo.

3. Unplug yout wheel speed sensors. This will also stop your speedo.

Step 2: Reorder your Brake Hardlines
You will need to change the hardlines around at the outlets of the ABS block. The ABS is split with each side controlling opposite corners of the car. Use the images below and swap two lines so that each side controls front/rear instead. There’s two types of ABS blocks that you might have, but both of them have labels beside the lines that show which one’s they’re for. Swap the two hardlines circled in Red.

(late model ABS units)

PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS. You can bend the lines by hand, just be careful to make gradual bends so that you don’t kink the hardline. Make sure the line is as straight as possible going into its new position. This will help ensure the brake line seals properly.

Step 3: Plumb your Hydro Lines
The Inline Handbrake Line Kit comes with labels at each end of the line that identify where they go. You essentially want to take the hardline out from the master/ABS connection, then replace it with the Henko lines running to the pass-thru master cylinder on your hydro. The easiest way to route these lines thru your firewall is through the grommet above the throttle pedal. This is the shortest distance and you won’t have to drill any new holes to pass the lines through.

Use the diagram below for which ports to plumb your lines to.

Note: If your Wilwood master cylinder came with the gold colored fittings in the images above, do not use them. The banjo fittings that come with our Inline brake kit bolt directly to the body of the master cylinder. The gold colored fitting suupplied by Wilwood is only used for hardline connections.

Step 4: Bleed your Brake System
Finally, rebleed your whole brake system starting at your farthest caliper to your front driverside caliper. To bleed your hydro when bleeding your rear calipers, follow this sequence.
Pump Brakes and Hold - Open bleeder - Pull hydro completely and Hold (light pressure only) - Close bleeder - Release hydro - Release brakes - then repeat.
Ensure you bleed everything well and that there are no leaks at any connection.

Step 5: Go Rip It!
Congrats! You now have your hydro plumbed in! Go out and test it (safely) and Enjoy!
